I am a Professor of Industrial Engineering at Ozyegin University and the Managing Director of Datart. I received my B.S. (2002) from Bilkent University and M.S. (2004) from Sabanci University, both in Industrial Engineering, and Ph.D. (2009) from the University of Florida in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Computer and Information Science and Engineering. I had worked as an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of Houston from 2009 to 2013 and as a Director/Distinguished Scientist at Optym from 2019 to 2021.
My research interests are in decision analytics and mathematical optimization, and I had the opportunity to supervise 3 Ph.D. and 11 M.S. students in these areas. I received an Early Career Award from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, a Teaching Excellence Award at the University of Houston, and a Florida Chapter Scholarship from the HIMSS Foundation. I serve as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Global Optimization, Optimization Letters, SN Operations Research Forum, and the Journal of Biomedical Data Mining.
