I am a Professor of Industrial Engineering at Sabancı University and the Director of Datart Lab. I received my Ph.D. (2009) in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a minor in Computer and Information Science and Engineering from the University of Florida. Prior to that, I earned a B.S. (2002) from Bilkent University and an M.S. (2004) from Sabancı University, both in Industrial Engineering. I previously held faculty positions at the University of Houston and Özyeğin University, and served as a Director and Distinguished Scientist at Optym.
My research interests include decision analytics and mathematical optimization, and I have supervised three Ph.D. and fourteen M.S. students in these areas. I received an Early Career Award from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, a Teaching Excellence Award at the University of Houston, and a Florida Chapter Scholarship from the HIMSS Foundation. I serve as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Global Optimization, Optimization Letters, and SN Operations Research Forum.
